the movie

the scene that was different then i imagined it in the book was the court scene. i imagined the room alot bigger, and i imagined that the itness would be on the side of the judge instead of in front of the judge. also during the cross examination the attorney didnt go as hard as i thought he would on tom robinson.

i was dissapointed that they didnt show the seen were atticus takes off his jacket, i would of liked to see the kids faces. the costumes wer good except for tom robinson he didnt look like he came from jail he looked like he had just come off the field. and i didnt like dills shorts they just didnt look comfortable. they wer just ot high up. and h wore them all the time.

the book that changed my life........

the book has showed me that even if convicted some people can be innocent. the book shows that even though tom robibson is innocent he gets convicted. it also shows racism the way the guard shot him 17 times instead of once just to injure him. the book has also shown me different ways of speaking down south... in that time. it has a very large vocabulary and doesnt repeat itself. this book doesnt let you see what is coming. it masks it until its there and your shocked by the outcome.

the book hasnt reallly influenced me much. it has taught me to respect the little things. and not pick on people. its also taught me to respect the "moockingbird" in many of life storys i will come to have.

life essons of jem and scout

together jem and scout have learned many life lessons from the adults in there life, and some adults have learned from them. one of the many lessons that jem and scout have learned is about a racist community. when Tom Robinson gets accused for raping mayella ewell its his word against two white peoples word so he really has no chance.then when he said that he felt sorry for mayella he was scrutinized for being so "ignorant" to feel sorry for a white person.they learn that even hard working respectable men are treated unfairly. when tom tries to run away because he doesn't think he has a chance he is treated with racism "...17 holes in him. they didn't have to shoot him that much cal.", if it were a write person they wold shot him to injure not for the sport.

i have learned lots of storeys from my elders but not much in the way of this case. i have heard of a couple storeys from other people though. like prosecutors prosecuting a suspect for hours on end then the next day telling the prosecutor that they had a dream that they committed the crime. then the prosecuter turns that meager evidence against them and they get charged with a crime they didnt commit.

theme...

i think the main theme in the book is segregation. tom robinson got framed for raping mayella becaues hes black. when really her father beat her for falling in love with tom. evenif no one had beat her they could have claimed to have been beaten by a black man and right then and there the black man would have lost the case.

i think tom robinson is the mocking bird of the story. he is innocent and does nothing but help other people. but when he tries to be a good man and not have an affair with miss mayella she claims that he raped her and now he might lose the case but he has atticus on his side,

atticus

atticus is a wise and trusting father but he is old and does not do what most of the other fathers do. he is fair like when he gives the children air rifles he tells them "... dont shoot them in the house....". he teaches his children to be fair and respectful.

atticus is awesomehe gave his kids air rifles! and he lets the them shoot blue jays! on the other hand he isnt around that much. and he is older. id rather have my dad because he s home alot more and im buying his car so ya!

rethinking boo radley

some things that are different are that stuff appeared in the tree and i think it was booo radley. but then he filled the whole with cement. after that when the kids went to his house to look inside they ran away and he tried to shoot them with his shot gun. jem lost his pants on the fence on the way out, so when he went back to get them they wer folded and stiched for him. i think that was boo radley to so it think that boo radley is even stranger then before.

my perception of boo after the discussion with miss maudy and the play, it seems to me that boo radley scares the hole neighbor hood.

what i think about boo radley (second try)

my first impression of boo radley was scary but interested at the same time. i do not think the rumors are true i think the towns people are scared of the radleys because they are anti social and has weird habits. they also think of the radleys this way because of there house, when really all the house needs is allitle work.

i think im most like dill because of his interest in boo radley "i wonder what he looks like dill said" ( page 13). the children react in a different way to the house and boo. jem is scared but not to much because he runs up and touches the house. dill is interested but still cautious of the house. last but not least scout, scout is terrified by the house and wont go past the lamp pole.
